Today’s scripture used to confuse me. I got the part about “not lose heart,” but how do you always pray? Sure, praying first thing in the morning when God opens my eyes and before I sleep takes practice to become consistent, but definitely doable. But I can’t always close my eyes and pray while I’m driving or get on bended knee while I’m conducting meetings. I wanted to be obedient to God’s Word, but how was this possible? Then I learned: prayer isn’t always me doing the talking.

Prayer is God being able to talk to you always – day or night. It’s being able to stay open and hear God’s voice no matter what you’re doing, who you’re with or where you’re going. Prayer is God doing the majority of the talking and when your spirit is open and acknowledges Him, He then can direct your path. After all, if you’re talking with someone who knows everything, why would you want to do all the talking?

Heavenly Father, thank You for always speaking to me to guide me and direct me. I am open to hear Your voice always and obey everything You speak into my spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
