In 1987 a concert movie that changed the landscape of comedy premiered in theatres everywhere. It was the record-setting No. 1 concert film of all time. That movie was Eddie Murphy: Raw. My older brothers were gearing up to go Friday night, and since I normally followed them everywhere they went, I just knew I was going! As I headed to the door to go with them, they stopped me and said I couldn’t go. I asked why not, and they said, “You aren’t mature enough yet.”

There are some people in your life that have followed you for years, but there may come a time you learn they aren’t spiritually mature enough yet to go where God is taking you. You may have to leave some people behind (or alone). Everybody can’t go where Christ is taking you and that’s all right. God promised to replace everything you’ve given up for His sake a hundredfold now in this time. It may hurt. It may be uncomfortable. But allow the Holy Spirit to comfort you as you continue to live for Christ.
Move forward in Christ
Heavenly Father, thank You for enlightening me with Your blessings of knowledge and wisdom. I know You will bless me a hundredfold in this time as I move forward in You and Your plan for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
