Work To Do

January 27, 2026 Van Burch

Isaiah 43:2a (NKJV)

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

When I worked in Three Rivers, Michigan I had to use US-131 to get there. It was notorious for strong winds during winter and rainstorms. One day it was storming pretty bad and some cars chose to pull over in the storm. I elected to turn on my hazard lights, slow down and continue through the storm because I had work to do and didn’t have time to sit in the storm.

You’re going to experience storms in life, but Jesus doesn’t want you to pull over and sit in your storm because He has work for you to do. He designed storms for you to pass through, not to get stuck in. And remember, in the storms of life, God is always with you as you go through making sure they don’t overtake you. So, in your next storm, you may have to slow down, but don’t pull over and stop. Keep going because God still has work for you to do!

Passing through

Heavenly Father, when storms come in my life I know You are with me and will not allow them to overtake me. You didn’t bring me this far to leave me, and I know You have a great work for me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
