Have you ever been fooled by a product claiming to be “New & Improved?” It’s the same ol’ product with a new scent, updated packaging, and a higher price. Marketing teams are paid to create hype for minor updates or novel items that seem revolutionary but offer little to no real benefit and play on your desire for better, easier, or fancier things. But when you peel back the package, you realize ain’t a darn thing changed!

The same does not apply to you. You’re not better in Christ. You’re not improved in Christ. You are new in Christ. In Christ, there is no resemblance of the old you in you. That new shiny suit doesn’t make you new. Those new eyelashes are nice, but they don’t make you new. Christ does! And when He makes you new, He gets rid of the old you completely. People may remind you of the old you, and that’s OK. Don’t feel ashamed. Hold your head high and say, “Yes! That used to be me!” or “Yes! I used to do that!” And then give God glory by acknowledging that Christ made you a new creation and old things have passed.

Heavenly Father, I claim my new life in You today. I am a new creation. Because of you, old things have passed away and all things in my life are new. I am blessed and deserve good things. I am worthy no matter my past. I am loved regardless of what the enemy says. And most of all, I am Yours! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
