We had a talent show at my elementary school that I knew I would win with my Michael Jackson routine. I had the Beat It jacket, the music note t-shirt and, yes, the glove! Was I ready? The question was, “Were they ready?” I didn’t care if anyone liked my song choice, outfit or not. For those four and a half minutes, I was Michael. Because I had repeatedly watched Michael’s videos, practiced his moves, and memorized his lyrics it was no problem for me to imitate him. God wants us to spend even more time with Jesus so when the time comes, we can imitate Him. When the curtains of life open, will you be ready? In hard times have you practiced His Word? When tempted do you remember the time Jesus moonwalked over the devil? The more time you spend with God, the easier you’ll find it to imitate Him.
The world’s a stage
Heavenly Father, there is no one else I’d rather imitate than You. You have shown me the way to live life, love others and be a blessing. I will commit to spend even more time learning of You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
