If you’re in Michigan this time of year, you know how icy and slippery it can be. Me and my wife were walking through a parking lot recently, both trying to be careful not to slip. As we were talking about not slipping, she lost her footing, reached out, grabbed my arm, and didn’t fall. Luckily, she was close enough for me to catch her and prevent her from stumbling.

Are you close enough to God that He can catch you before you fall? His Word is full of knowledge and wisdom to prevent us from slipping. Sure, you’re going to make mistakes and get some things wrong, but if you’re prepared with the Word, He is able to keep you from stumbling. When times get rough, you can reach out and God won’t allow you to fall. And not only that, He will present you faultless in His presence with exceeding joy. So don’t get caught slipping. Stay close to Christ.
…But we get up!
Heavenly Father, I promise to stay close to You through Your Word so not to get caught slipping. Thank You for being there to catch me when I almost fall and for presenting me faultless in the presence of Your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
