If we’re not careful, we can become distracted by the gifts GOD has given us. We start spending more money and time with our possessions and forget it is GOD who gave us that which we possess. We can become wrapped up in enjoying life with family and friends and neglect the One who gave us life. GOD blesses us with gifts to enjoy life, but not to forget Him.

You’re a believer and follower of Christ. You worship often and pray regularly. You may have been saved for umpteen years (as Big Mama used to say), but it’s OK to get a reminder every once in a while of the basic things in life that got you this far. No matter how big your blessing. No matter how much success you achieve. No matter your zip code, number of cars, family you married into or how many letters you have after your name, this is just a reminder that you must follow the Lord your GOD. You must continue to revere Him in all your ways. Keep His commands and obey Him in all things. Serve only GOD and in every situation, hold fast to Him. It is GOD who will keep you, continue to bless you and sustain you. Remember, the giver of gifts is more precious and valuable than the gift itself.
