Remembering Day One

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
— COLOSSIANS 2:6 - 7 (NIV)

Remember the first day on your new job? How excited you were for your new beginning (and paycheck)? All the new ideas you had? The energy you possessed? The “nothing’s going to get in my way” attitude? But then… you met your co-workers. And the nice boss that interviewed you turned into the boss from hell. Your office is a lot smaller than you thought and the hours are longer than you wanted. But you know what hasn’t changed? The spirit inside you that enables you to keep going.

Likewise, when you accepted Christ you were excited to learn more about Him and get to work. You were excited about joining a ministry and attended every prayer service and bible study. No matter who or what hurdle comes your way, continue to live your life in Him. Stay rooted and built up in Christ remembering how you felt on day one. Keep strengthening your faith and thanking God from the abundance of your heart. No matter what you’re facing, keep going. It gets better.
