Double Protection

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.
— JOHN 10:28 - 30 (NIV)

As saved believers, Christ has given you a promise of eternal life along with double protection. It doesn’t mean that Satan won’t try his best to get you and what you have, but it does mean you’re already guaranteed victory over him if you remember you’re in Jesus’ hand which is in His Father’s hand.

No one is greater than God. And when He gave you and I into the hands of Jesus that gave us double protection. Sounds like enough, right? It definitely is! But for even more safe keeping, not only are you in Christ’s hand that is in God’s hand, but you’re also sealed with the Holy Spirit too! That’s triple protection! That means in order for Satan, your ex-spouse, boss, or whoever’s trying to get you, they have to go over the Holy Spirit, through the hand of Jesus, and peel open the strong grip that God has on you – and I just don’t see that happening. The next time you’re tried or tempted, remember you’re covered and no weapon formed against you will prosper.

All Things

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
— ROMANS 8:32 (NKJV)

You have a God that wants you to have all the things you need for a great life. You don’t have to worry or stress over situations that you have little to no control over. Jesus wants to give you everything you need – freely! Through your obedience and petitions through prayer, God is able to bless you exceedingly abundantly beyond all you can ask or think. When you find yourself worrying about what’s going to happen next or stressing about how you’re going to come out on top of a situation, turn your thoughts toward the almighty God you serve that wants to freely give you all the things you need.

Servants of All

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, ‘Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.’
— MARK 9:35 (NIV)

My mother once told me that there are jobs people can’t be successful at if they are in it just for the money. She named a few on her list: firemen, police officers, teachers, caregivers, and pastors. She told me money can’t be the reward for them. They have to be called and have a driving force in them to care about people as well as a heart to serve them.

One attribute that should be common amongst the people she listed is an ability to think of others first and themselves last. When a fireman runs into a burning house. When a teacher stays up late to prepare a lesson plan. When a pastor sacrifices time to meet with troubled members after hours. These things are done with a heart to serve. As a follower of Christ, Jesus wants you to be a servant of all. You can consider others before yourself when you believe God is taking care of all your needs. This week, look for ways to serve others and have faith Jesus will provide for you.

Tripping Over Nothing

…Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble...
— 1 JOHN 2:9 - 11 (NIV)

Hatred and grudges can cause you to miss blessings Christ intended for you. There’s plenty of instances Jesus tells us to love, forgive, and help one another. When you do any of these things, God shows you the next thing He wants you to do.

If you don’t love your brother or sister, scripture says you’re blinded by darkness, but when you love your brother or sister you’ll live in the light and there will be nothing in you to make you stumble. So, if you’re going through life wondering why things aren’t going your way, it may be because you’re tripping over nothing. Ask God to remove your stony heart and replace it with one of flesh. Forgive those who have wronged you and show them Christ’s love. Remove the darkness from your life by doing as Christ has taught you. Go towards the light and love your brother and sister.

These three words

Thank Jesus

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

There are two types of believers: those that are “going through,” and those that have just “been through.” Every Christian will suffer persecution or become challenged in life at some point. During this season, it’s important you remember to thank God for already supplying you with everything you need to get through “through.” God is not out to get you, nor is He letting the devil “have his way” with you. Anything God allows you to experience is to ultimately bless you. Thank Jesus He made you more than a conqueror. Thank Jesus you can do all things through Him because He gives you strength. Thank Him for the peace He’s given you, which surpasses all understanding when you keep your mind stayed on Him.

God has given you everything you need in His word for whatever you’re going through today. You don’t have to ask for what’s already yours. Activate your supply by thanking Him right now.

You’ve always had it

Heavenly Father, thank You for endlessly supplying everything I need in life according to Your riches and glory. I claim all the power, love, and sound mind You have given me right now! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Hold Jesus

…But Jacob replied, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’
— Genesis 32:26b (NIV)

I’m not where I expected to be in life. I am finding out things about myself I never knew existed. These are things I thought I would have learned as a teenager or maybe in my college years. I’ve had times where I thought, “Why should God continue to use me, bless me, or even love me?” I’m a sinner at best.

Then I remembered if I confess my sins Jesus is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me of all my unrighteousness. I remembered once I am in His hand no one can take me out of it. I am perfect in His hand. Instead of having a “woe is me” moment or a pity party, I decided to refocus that energy and use it to hold Jesus until He blesses me! In order to hold Jesus, I have to get close enough to Him. In order to get close enough to Him, I have to study Him and talk to Him. When I study and talk to Him, He’ll reveal how to receive His blessings. If the blessings don’t come today or tomorrow, I’m still going to hold Jesus until He decides to release my blessings. I challenge you to join me. Hold Jesus until He blesses you!

Steadfast. Unmovable.

Heavenly Father, I have faith that You will bless me exceeding and abundantly above all I could ever ask or think. I confess my sin. Please forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Ask Jesus

‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
— Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)

As believers, prayer should be a lifestyle and not a routine. With routines, you can easily practice an activity and forget to expect anything out of the ordinary. Whenever you go to God in prayer, believe He is going to answer you and show you great and mighty things you don’t know. Expect Him to do what you’re asking. Expect Him to give you what you need. Don’t make the mistake of taking your prayer life for granted by making it routine. Find yourself praying more often than right before bed or quickly over your meal. Make it a priority throughout your day to ask Jesus for the desires of your heart. As you pray today, don’t forget to listen. You’ll find great and mighty things when you allow Christ to initiate the conversation.

Call Him up…

Heavenly Father, thank You for answering me when I call You. I know You have great and mighty things to show me that I don’t know, so I give myself to You and Your will today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Love Jesus

If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments
— John 14:15 (AMP)

How can you repay someone who gave their life for you? How can you prove you believe, trust, and have faith in them? What matter of devotion can reciprocate your love for their action?  There is no way we can come close to repaying Christ for dying for our sins, but we can show Him our love. Jesus said, “If you really love Me, keep and obey My commandments.”

By keeping His commandments, you show you are living a life for Christ. By obeying His commandments you exhibit you believe, trust, and have faith in Him. He sees your efforts. He knows your heart. The love you show toward others is the love you show toward Christ. His commandments aren’t meant to scare you straight, but to teach you how to love His way. Show Jesus you love Him by showing someone the love of Christ.

Know greater love

Heavenly Father, I will show I really love You by keeping Your commandments and obeying them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please Jesus

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
— Galatians 1:10 (NIV)

As believers, it’s important that we serve Christ. Christ tells us that whatever we do for one another, we’ve done to Him. Therefore, it’s important as disciples of Christ we participate in the work of the ministry.

It’s easy to forget why we serve. You may have gotten involved in a particular ministry because someone asked you, because the ministry was shorthanded, or maybe you’re gifted in that area. We may forget why we serve when frustrations sets in or you disagree with members in your ministry. When emotions or variables cloud your mind remember you serve to please God. Win God’s approval in your service and you will receive all the approval you need! When you seek God first and His Kingdom, He will give you everything you need.

Be a servant of Christ

Heavenly Father, I strive to win Your approval. I will look for ways to please You in my life and in my service toward You.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Will Flip It

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good…
— GENESIS 50:20 (NKJV)

There are some mean people in this world. I cannot begin to tell you why some people do the things they do. I imagine there is some rule book mean people have to assist them in governing their meanness because it always seems that they focus their attention on people who are minding their own business. You could be having a great day, your favorite song just ended, and just received some good news through a text message and then here… they… come! Trying to ruin everything!

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

Well, even though they may try to ruin your day, don’t worry about it. When you find people being mean to you, that just means you’re that much closer to what God has for you. You see *|FNAME|*, you’re God’s child, and what people mean for evil against you, God will flip it, and make good of it for you. So don’t stress when mean people do mean things. They may form the weapon, but God will not allow it to prosper! You don’t have to stoop to their level, check them or correct them. Christ has already blocked it and is working everything out for your good.

God blocked it

What's Inside Counts

Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.
— MARK 7:15 (NIV)

Jesus has never been concerned with the outward appearance of people. While doing His ministry on this earth, Christ didn’t care if your body was covered in boils or if you wore the finest robes. He’d didn’t care if you had an issue of blood or leprosy. Jesus was only concerned about what was going on on the inside – the heart. He knew that you could never judge someone just by looking at their outside. For nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

Today, we see a lot of people with tattoos and piercings. Any given day we can observe different hairstyles, clothing choices and cultures all around us and you know what? Jesus loves them and so should we. No matter the outward choice they made, they still have purpose in the body of Christ. As believers it’s our responsibility to embrace them, stir up the gifts God gave them or help them learn of their gifts. It’s what’s inside that counts to Christ and the only way we’ll find out what’s inside a person is if we take the time to love them as God does.

The Perfect Time

Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.
— ECCLESIASTES 11:4 (NCV)

What are you waiting for? You know exactly what I’m talking about. That thing that God told you to do that you haven’t done yet. Yep! That thing. You’re waiting for the perfect time. You’re waiting for the right person to come along and help you. You’re waiting to have more time on your hand to get it done exactly the way you want it. Make a Statement

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve ... But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
— JOSHUA 24:15 (NIV)

There are so many distractions readily available with an ability to destroy the very fabric of our family’s lives. Instead of reading together, books are replaced with video gaming and streaming services. Instead of intimate conversations at the dinner table, your day, hopes, goals, and dreams are shared with strangers on social media. As believers, it’s not the new president’s or even local government’s job to take back our families. It’s our jobs!

Make a statement in your household today that you and your family will serve the Lord. Write the vision and mission for your family and make it plain. Carve out time in your hectic schedule to pray daily, have family meetings, set goals, and share dreams.  Explain who God is to the members of your household and allow questions to be asked freely. Making this kind of statement in your household is the beginning of leaving an inheritance for your children’s children.

Leaders Make Leaders

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
— Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

Mahatma Ghandi said, “A sign of a good leader is not how many followers you have, but how many leaders you create.”

While Jesus walked this earth He had a tremendous following, but His goal was to make leaders. He knew His ministry would be more effective if He taught His disciples how to lead the way He led. Christ gave us the power to love, heal, and restore just as He does. When He instructs us to “go and make disciples,” He didn’t mean thoughtless followers. He wants us to teach people everything He taught us. Good leaders create good leaders by example. And as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, reflect on how he too led by example and how using his philosophy can help us create leaders of today.

Don't Turn Back

But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
— Galatians 4:9 (NIV)

Good morning, friend. You’ve made it to the end of the week. You may have been tested, tried, or even broken this week, but you’re still here. You’re still here because of God’s grace and mercy. He’s aware of all your challenges this week. He saw your successes and the changes you’ve made in your life to achieve them. I want to encourage you to stay on that new path. Don’t give in to your flesh and turn back to those weak and miserable forces, only to be enslaved by them again. Keep your faith in God and your eyes on Christ. Allow the Holy Spirit to continue to guide you. Granted, it may not be easy all the time, but you’re a lot better than the old you that you were familiar with. Don’t turn back now. God still has more great things He wants to show you.

Heart's Desire

May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
— PSALM 20:4 (NIV)

Did you know God thinks about you? You’re constantly on His mind because He cares for you. He wants you to have the desires of your heart and to make all your plans successful.

When your desires and plans align with God’s purpose over your life, His blessings flow your way. Living for God is not burdensome nor complex as many would have you to believe. It becomes simple once you’ve decided to start living for God by loving Him and loving others as you love yourself. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with family, friends, co-workers and others, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus and you will have the desires of your heart and all your plans will be made to succeed.

Broken

“…and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’
— 1 CORINTHIANS 11:24 (NIV)

Have you ever noticed when God breaks something it multiplies or becomes better? Think about it! Before He fed the multitude of people with two fish and five loaves of bread, it had to be what? Broken. Before He shared the last supper with His disciples, He gave thanks, and then what did He do with the bread that represents His body? Broke it. You see the pattern, yet?

If you’re broken today, Jesus can make you better than before. Broken hearted? He can fix you. Financially broke? He can fix you. You only need to submit to His will and His way. Then He can take you in His righteous right hand and multiply your health, multiply your wealth, multiple your wholeness, multiple your ideas, your talents, your support, your opportunities, your footstools, and more. So, if you find yourself in a broken state today or tomorrow, give thanks, and get ready to be made whole and brand new.

Effects of Your Purpose

Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them.
— JOSHUA 1:2 (NIV)

God’s purpose for you is specific and should effect other people. So, if you’re on your mission from God, and your life is the only one that’s changing for the better, you might want to have another little talk with Jesus. In your purpose, God includes other people. When Moses died, God told Joshua his purpose was to take the Israelites across the Jordan River into the land He’s about to give them. Pretty specific, right? Joshua was then to divide the land amongst all the tribes. So not only did Joshua’s mission and purpose prosper Him in the Lord, but it also prospered the nation as well.

The purpose God has for your life is bigger than you. It’s bigger than your family and your community. What God has for you will change the world! Through your purpose, He’s able to open up a window of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you won’t have room enough to receive it. So you’ll have to bless someone else! But it all starts with you in your purpose.

There For a Reason

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.
— Matthew 4:1 (NLT)

Whatever you’re facing today is for a reason. It may be uncomfortable, it may not be what you expected, but remember that God has a plan for your life and that includes the good times as well as the bad times. When you’re experiencing the bad times, know that God has you there for a reason. And without this experience that God is allowing you to have, you may never know all that you’re capable of.

Much like Jesus, when God leads you into the wilderness, it’s because He knows you’re ready. God will never set you up for failure. If God allows you to be tempted by the devil, it’s because He knows you have enough Christ in you to successfully past the test. It’s up to you to make the right choice in your situation. Also, don’t give Satan credit for what God is doing in your life. God knows you’re up for this challenge. He knows you can overcome your obstacle. You have the strength and stamina to run your race and successfully accomplish life. Keep focusing on Jesus and continue to execute His word.

Rescue Mission

Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all.
— PSALM 34:19 (AMP)

There was a religious man stranded on a rooftop during a flood. A person in a boat came by to help shouted, “I’ve got room! Let me help you!” The stranded man replied, “No! I’m waiting for Jesus to save me!” Later that day, as the water nearly covered the rooftop, a helicopter flew over. “Grab the ladder! We’re here to help!” The stranded man said, “No! Jesus will save me!” The water rose higher. The man drowned. He met Jesus in heaven and asked, “Jesus! Why didn’t you save me from the flood?” Jesus answered, “I tried! I sent a person in a boat and people in a helicopter!”

You may be experiencing a flood today (or one could be on its way), but have faith that help is on the way. Jesus will rescue you from all your hardships and perplexing circumstances and He will use people around you to do so. Whether it’s your pastor, best friend or co-worker, Jesus will place people in your life to help you in trying times. They may not always come packaged the way you expect, but trust that God knows what He’s doing. Receive God’s help no matter the package and pass it on.
