When you magnify the Lord, you turn your focus from your problem and toward the problem-solver. As you focus on God and serving him, your problems will consume you less.

When you face animosity, don’t lose control. Handle your situation with meekness. Jesus had all power and could command legions of angels to war against His enemies, but He chose to show His strength through meekness. 

God is pursuing you. He wants to change your life for the better. His goodness and mercy are following you wherever you go and no matter what you do. You only need to accept Him. Allow Christ to enter your heart. 

God not only wants to bless you in times of trouble. He’s prepared a table for you in the presence of your enemies, situations, and circumstances, making them unable to reach you. God wants you to keep living the life He’s prepared for you. 

With God by your side, you never have to fear. You may experience some dark times. Life may present difficult and uncomfortable circumstances, but you’re not alone in them. God is with you. 

God is always working on you. He considers the mistakes of your past and provides you with opportunities to learn from them. I often feel sorry for those who pretend they have it all together while they shake their heads and hands at us imperfect people – they have no idea what they’re missing out on. 

God wants you to take time out your hectic schedule to give all your attention to Him. He will present circumstances in your life that force you to stop what you’re doing, lie down, and acknowledge Him. 

When David wrote, "I shall not want," it was because he knew God would not allow him lack in anything. This also meant that he would not want another shepherd. God was all he wanted. 

The Lord’s Prayer is focused on what we can do for God and others, not what God and others should do for us. Jesus instructed us to use this model when we pray. It’s a prayer to praise God, receive direction from God, and to glorify God. 

In life you will need to be able locate your nearest exit when tempted of things not pleasing to God. Jesus will always provide a way for you to escape temptation. You just have to pause what you’re doing to locate your exit. 

For a long time, I thought forgiving a person who wronged me was for their benefit. It wasn’t until recently I realized God designed forgiveness for my gain. Scripture says, “If you forgive other people when they sin against you...

While you pray for others, Christ is praying for you. Don’t be more concerned with checking off items on your personal prayer list before checking off God’s. When you pray to God, remember to lift His agenda.

Even when you don’t realize it, God is paying attention to you. He sees each decision you make each day. He knows what you need in life before you ask Him. The tough part is exercising patience on the receiving end.

When you pray to God, make sure you don’t babble and remove the fluff from your request. I find the most effective way to do this is to pray His scripture. Find a scripture that supports your prayer request and pray it without adding fluff to it.

Jesus did not intend for prayer to be for show or a contest to see who has the most knowledge and largest vocabulary. Jesus designed prayer to commune with you. 

As I complete this 27th Psalm Series, I realized that everything I wrote about He made sure I believed and exercised for myself. Each time I wanted to lash out at my enemy (but didn’t), and every time I wanted to give up on life (but didn’t), Jesus was right there to strengthen me through this word and show me His face. 

Every comment made against you doesn’t deserve a response. The time you spend defending yourself is less time you spend with Christ.

It’s coming. You can’t stop it. You can’t prevent it. It’s inevitable! Someone is going to lie on you. It shouldn’t come as a surprise. Scripture warns us that as believers, we will suffer persecution. 

You may not always find what He tells you comfortable. Nevertheless, expect God’s word to give it to you straight. If you stick with it, you’ll find the results are better than what you could have ever imagined.
